Keramic Kunst Museum
Visual Identity

BACKGROUND

The KKM Ceramic Art Museum in Neunkirchen/Saar, opened in summer 2023, presenting a collection of international contemporary works of art. We were approached to not only design the visual identity for the new museum but also to refresh and adapt the logo of Städtische Galerie Neunkirchen (SGN), which is also based in the same building in the KULT.Kulturzentrum.

The Concept

Our logo started as an abstraction of the Neunkirchener Kulturgesellschaft logo, which we then took a step further and developed into a concept reflecting the different steps involved in creating ceramics such as mixing, firing and glazing.

The logo can be reduced to just its base shape or used in different lock-ups depending on size and usage.

Logo refresh

Our choice to use a monospaced font for the KKM and SGN logo gives them a modern look, increases readability and makes them more suitable for small logo usage such as social media.
