Whisky Tasting Livestream
BACKGROUND
The Single Malt Whisky market is oversaturated, with over 6,000 search results on Amazon alone. This can be very daunting for both aficionados or someone new to the world of Whisky. Access to whisky tasting is limited at best, denying the customers from a realtime customer review experience to take those choices. Our challenge was to bring awareness to the German and UK markets, by educating the customer about the products taste and uniqueness.
SOLUTION
For this campaign we collaborated with production agency Groovy Geeko and created a new type of livestream experience to support an exclusive Amazon tasting set and a ‘Ask a question’ feature for our viewers to engage live with a whisky master guiding them through the hour long event. Over 27,000 people tuned in live and we saw high interactivity with over 500 questions sent in from the live audience across the UK and Germany.

The event also ran live on Fire TV and had exposure on the Amazon Gateway H1 in DE and UK, which was a global first mover for a BWS partner.
My Role
I created the concept, developed the pitch deck and presented our solution to the client. During the production phase, I reviewed creatives and collaborated with our team’s EU creative director for video on deliverables.

Our campaign was split into three phases. In the lead up phase customers could buy a tasting set specifically made for Amazon to be sampled during our livestream phase. Post event, customers could see an edited version of the livestream and buy the products.
